Hokusai Flyer:

For the flyer, I decided to focus it on an exhibition in the British museum for a Japanese artist name Hokusai. He is known for ‘Under the wave off Kanagawa’, also known as ‘the great wave’. I chose this artist as I love Japanese culture and think their art is always fascinating and peaceful. I researched other Japanese artists such as Yayoi Kusama but decided to choose Hokusai as I preferred his artwork and thought that the colours in his paintings were more appealing. I made my flyer on canva and it took me a while to figure out a layout for the design as I wanted the art piece to be noticeable but wanted the information about the exhibition to be the main focus. The background of the flyer is the painting by Hokusai called ‘mount fuji from gotenyama’.

Climate Poster:

The first thing I decided to do was find inspiration from other climate change posters. This gave me ideas for my own poster and helped me decide what topic of climate change to focus on. I used google to find this inspiration and went on websites such as Pinterest, Cafe Press and Canva. I then made a mood board on Pinterest(https://pin.it/64CD8t1) of different posters I found that I liked the style and layout of. The posters I found were all graphic which I liked the design of, but I decided to use a real image of a turtle instead.

I decided to choose the theme of ‘Save The Turtles’ as they are one of my favourite animals and are severely endangered. I chose turtles as sea life can often be forgotten about when it comes to climate change. I found the fact/info about turtles that I wanted to use on a website called projects-abroad.co.uk. I decided to use a software called Canva as I have a lot of experience using it and it offers lots of different graphics and fonts to use.

I used an image of a turtle with plastic as this will have more of an impact on the audience as it shows the result of plastic in the ocean. I made the title very large and bold as this is the main focus and will stand out the most. This is important as it's more likely to be noticed.
